A Pneumatic Ball Valve is an automated valve that uses compressed air to rotate a ball inside the valve body, effectively controlling the flow of liquids or gases with high precision, speed, and reliability. These valves are widely used across industries for applications that require quick shut-off, remote control, or automated operation.

What is a Pneumatic Ball Valve?

A Pneumatic Ball Valve consists of a ball valve coupled with a pneumatic actuator that utilizes compressed air to rotate the internal ball, either allowing or blocking fluid flow.
The ball has a bore (hole) through its center and rotates 90 to open or close the flow path.
Because of their rapid actuation speed often as fast as 0.05 seconds these valves are also known as quick cut-off valves.

How It Works

The pneumatic actuator drives the ball using compressed air:

• In single-acting valves, air pressure moves the ball in one direction, while a spring return mechanism restores it to its default position.

• In double-acting valves, air pressure is used in both directions, providing precise and repeatable control.
  For modulating applications, positioners can adjust the valves opening angle to regulate flow, allowing more than just simple on/off control.
